About

CHRISTINA [LU] JIN

Lu [Christina] Jin is currently a 5th year Architectural Engineering student at Penn State University. Upon graduation in May 2017, she will receive a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree with a focus in Lighting and Electrical Design.

During her time at Penn State, Christina has been a member of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) and International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), and a one-year mentor of Engineering Orientation Network (EON). In the summer of 2013, Christina began exploring real-world projects by interning at China Northeast Architectural Design & Research Institute. It is where she got fascinated by how lighting design brought buildings and structures to life, and make the infrastructures ethereal and vibrant, which led her eventual career in the lighting/electrical field. For the past two summers, Christina participated in lighting/electrical internships with Reese Engineering and Auerbach Glasow French, a well know lighting consultant. These experiences provide her with valuable knowledge, making her a well-rounded insightful engineer and designer. She hopes to combine her artistic talents and technical aptitude to make an impact in this rapidly growing and prevalent lighting/electrical design field.

Outside of academics, Christina has been a member of Penn State Equestrian Team, attending horse shows and regional competitions for Penn State, and achieved the 2nd place as her best result. With a great passion in dancing, Christina joined the Chinese Classical Dance Club in her sophomore year and became the treasure on the next year. She has not only performed on many Gala Events and Culture Shows, but also organized and performed on two CCDC’s Annual Showcases. In her spare time, Christina loves to cook/bake, volunteer and most importantly - travel around, exploring the culture and food in different cities.
